Saying we're excited is an understatement when it comes to this 15th Anniversary Selvedge. It has not one, but many of the things that get our spidey-sense tingling for denim. This fabric is in the perfect weight range which parallels the year of the anniversary. It's at that weight where you really feel the crunch - the kind that helps denim mold to your specific shape perfectly. The second item of note is the slub. If you know anything about our love for N&F, you'll know that slub has topped the list for many years now. It's that uneven yarn woven into the twill that allows for immaculate fading. The slubby yarns create the melanged, flame-like appearance you see on the jeans. And lastly, they went with an alternate colored weft. This is a blend of red and white to mark the blending of Japanese and Canadian cultures for 15 years (both flags containing red and white). From a distance, these sort of look like the pink wefts of the past pairs which saw fervor from the masses. However, up close, you get that striated, variegated look of a multi-colored weft that will get your raw denim juices flowing.
For an extra special addition, you'll notice two additional details. The selvedge ID is different on each side - one being the inverse of the other to represent the flags. We've never seen this in all our days of denim hunting. The other is the custom artwork done not only for the pocket flasher but the veg tan leather patch itself. There is a ton of detail for such a small leather patch done by none other than a friend of N&F and renowned Japanese "pin-up" artist: Rockin' Jelly Bean.

Fit Notes: Tommy is wearing a size 33 waist in these. He decided, based on. the measurements to stick with the same size he wears in the Weird Guy. The major difference with these is the leg opening and room through the leg. They lose virtually all of the taper you gain from the Weir Guy. If you want a true straight fit, these are the ones. We still recommend sizing up once from whatever you normally wear. The most important part on straight jeans is always going to be the waist. Tommy is 5'10", 165lbs with a 33-34" waist.
