D1878S - "Midare Kasuri" Selvedge Jeans - Relaxed Taper

$ 295.00

Nobody puts in the historical research and effort like the designers at Studio D'artisan. You've maybe seen Karusi selvedge in the past, but it is likely you've never seen this style known as "Midare." It originates from a very long period in which dyeing Kimono with Kasuri was very popular (1429-1879). This specific style uses slub yarns to bring out that little starburst string of white you see running both horizontally and vertically. When we see a fabric like this, our alien brains kick into overdrive and we have to have it. Over the past two years, funky fabrics like this "Midare Kasuri" have been the first to go. They are worn by everyone from historians to streetwear enthusiasts, and we can't wait to see how you rock these.

Fit Notes: Most of our Japanese brands are known for fitting small, and this relaxed taper fits the bill. It is very slim. Tommy needed to size up to 34 to get the leg to feel right. The waist had about an inch of extra room, but nothing he is not used to in sizing up in other fits. If you like a slim leg, please size up at least once. If you want more room, go up twice if the waist will work. Tommy is 5'10," 163lbs with a 33-34" waist.
