Lot JG-K01 - 1920 The Bradley Sweater - Black, Red

John Gluckow is a vintage clothing collector representing America's East Coast. Having spent his early days as a designer with a global fashion brand, John knows what he's doing. He's taken that knowledge and partnered up with one of our favorite brands, Warehouse. This is the start of what appears to be a long-term relationship. They've designed some vintage garments with an eye towards contemporary fashion.

This is another repro of a sweater in John's closet. The Bradley brand made some of the best quality knitwear in America in the first half of the 20th century. This included mostly woolen sweaters, though occasionally cotton garments such as sweatshirt, too. Their sweter designs were some of the OG designs that so many colorful, patterned garments are based on today. We were enamored with the color combo of black and red, but once we looked further into the details we got extremely excited. The patterned buttons are absolutely gorgeous. The check pattern in all the right places sets this thing on fire. They've built the cuffs with the intention of being rolled for thickness and to reveal the same pattern seen throughout the garment. The collar can be worn straight up with the chin strap buttoned, or flat over the shoulders like the pictures. We say this a lot, but this has got to be one of the most unique pieces to ever kiss our shelves.

A variance of .5" is within tolerance. 

Fit Notes: Shop owner Tommy is wearing a size 40 in this piece. Upon initial inspection, he was afraid it was going to envelop him...but the fit was truly spot on. Once you roll the cuffs (their intended use) everything else falls into place. Sizing up once should give you ample room to make this gorgeous cardigan fit nicely. Tommy is 5'10", 165lbs with a 40" chest.
