This collection has been a long time in the making. We've been with Howl & Hide since day one. We're both two young guys building their businesses in the same space, and as with any co-existing small businesses, we don't need much of a reason to help each other succeed. Christian, the owner of Howl & Hide, started his business from nothing and made it something that Indianapolis is proud to boast about. We're pretty damn proud to have them in the shop ourselves, and after years of talking about it we finally made the time to collaborate on something amazing.
What really pulled the trigger on our collaboration was a single, beautiful bag that Christian had made for the Howl & Hide Women's Line. It was a gorgeous tonal red bag, and I was instantly drawn to it - I knew then that our line had to be something in that tone.
The leather itself is amazing. It's an oily, subtle cowhide that gains strength and stiffness over time. Most leathers start sturdy and soften with age, but this is the opposite. It's got the most unique aging potential of any leather we've had in the shop. It'll pick up on everything you do and wear in with a really specific character. And the color - the black leather accents blend so harmoniously with the rich blood tone of the leather and the brass accents. It's distinguished but low-contrast.
We couldn't be happier with how these leather goods turned out. We created this collection for lovers of James Dant and Howl & Hide, every item hand-stitched, and we hope you enjoy it. It hits the shelves at 3 PM on Saturday, March 23rd and we hope you come by to celebrate with us! Heres a link to the invite.
