Shangri-La Heritage - "Café Racer" Leather Jacket - Black.

Early on, we were the only brand carrying leathers from Shangri-La in America. Since then, they've been very good at growing their brand slowly in America and we're now one of a very few with a selection in their leather goods. These guys trust us to represent the brand in America and we appreciate them thoroughly for that. This season, we've gone hard and as far as giving specifications on the grade of leather we want. We are excited to really represent the brand this year, and this first round is just the start.

The Café is, and probably always be their best-selling jacket for us. The jacket was inspired by late 70s racing jackets but with Shangri-La's unique Italian touch. The piece is made with vegetable-tanned, drum-dyed, top-grain Lambskin from Tuscany (Italy). It also features an "Espresso Coffee" color viscose lining. You'll also notice metallic zippers made of antique brass with custom engraved markings. These bad boys are designed for bikers but can be worn by anyone looking for an heirloom jacket to wear during the cool months.

Shangri-La - "Chiodo" Horsehide Leather Jacket - Black.

These guys trust us to represent the brand in America and we appreciate them thoroughly for that. This season, we've gone hard and as far as giving specifications on the grade of leather we want. The green liner on this blew us away. They've really stepped up their game with this latest series and we're excited as hell to have it.

Inspired by 1950s Motorcycle jackets and revisited with a unique Italian touch, the “Chiodo” Whisky Horsehide Leather Jacket represents an authentic garment made of Front Quarter Pull-up Horsehide by Charles F. Stead, one of the oldest tanneries in the UK (since 1890s in Leeds, United Kingdom). The Front Quarter Pull-up Horsehide by Charles F. Stead is made by selected European Full Grain horse hides tanned with Steads’ traditional garment tannage and finished with a blend of “classic pull-up” waxes. This produces a pure aniline leather with a Unique Rich character. Charles F. Stead is a traditional family business established in 1895, which remained faithful to the artisanal skills, techniques, and know-how that others have forgotten, taking the time to work the leathers in the traditional way. These skills continue to live on in harmony with modern production technologies. Quality leather can never be a commoditized product, with each hide having its own characteristics, and they treat it accordingly.

These guys trust us to represent the brand in America and we appreciate them thoroughly for that. This season, we've gone hard and as far as giving specifications on the grade of leather we want. This one specifically was one we called out. We needed the most crackly, light-colored leather with the best pullup. And they delivered.

orSlow - Denim Bush Pants - One Wash.

We couldn't not take a shot on these pants. Anything bold enough to have the same pockets on the front as it has on the back is too intriguing to pass up. The original purpose of these pants was for hunters pushing their way through the bush in the 1970s. We think they have a wonderful fashion-forward sense about them all while using Orlsows original 14oz denim. It's got a ton of character up front and is only going to get better with time. We think this uniquely pocketed design is something any brave soul looking for a new silhouette can get on board with.
orSlow - Hooded Reversible Wool Coat - Beige.

Pleased is an understatement when it comes to the fact that we're working with orSlow. They've been on our brand "bucket list" for a while, so when we had a chance to see the line live in New York a few years back...we knew it was only a matter of time. The brand is everything we love - vintage-inspired designs with a modern branding approach and quality at the forefront of their ethos. It's all in the name, as they're the antidote to modern fast fashion...they do things slowly!

The marled beige colorway was drew us in from the start. We love the way this color looks on wool. Then, we realized it was reversible. This jacket is one of the finest jackets we've ever laid eyes on. Reversible doesn't always work well in real life, but this is the exception. It's just as good on the wool side as it is on the poly-canvas inverse. The orSlow snaps are the ones we love so much from some of their beloved pants. The draw string and hood are just the icing on this cake of this spectacular work of art.

Shoes Like Pottery - Low Sneaker - Beige.

Shoes Like Pottery, made in the same factory as Moonstar, is done slow and steady - like the process of hand throwing, glazing, and firing pottery. The kiln they use to vulcanize the rubber is very similar in nature to the one used in the process of ceramics. The foxing surrounding the shoe even reminds us of some patterns we’ve seen in our favorite potters' clay-work. These were intentional. The name means what it says. A slow process of stitching, wrapping, molding, and firing gives these shoes a foundation you’ll be able to stand on for a long time. The beauty in the aesthetics of the shoes means more in that way, at least to us. Voting with your dollars is the perfect intersection of sensory pleasure and storytelling. The two waves flow through the universe in parallel only crossing paths on rare occasions. We specialize in curating those occasions, and so does Shoes Like Pottery. The Beige is one of our favorite colors yet.

orSlow - Loopwheel Hooded Sweatshirt - Exclusive No-Print Burgundy.

Pleased is an understatement when it comes to the fact that we're working with orSlow. It's all in the name, as they're the antidote to modern fast fashion...they do things slowly!

You say "loopwheel" and we're there. These are everything expected and more. They're plush on the outside and super soft on the inside with tons of texture. And we mean tons of texture this time. There's a great little fleck in the fabric, unlike anything we've seen in a sweatshirt. The strings are nice and hardy and the ribbing is that orSlow quality we all expect. The character in this piece is in its simplicity. We're all about building better basics, and that's exactly what orSlow has done with the slow, loopwheel process. This red was part of a printed series, but you know how much we love our no-prints. We're the only shop on the planet that has this version of it. This super vintage cut sweatshirt is one of our favorite things in the store at this moment, and probably will be long after it's gone.

Momotaro - Dobby Sashiko USN Coverall - Black.

We kicked ourselves so hard for missing this piece in the past. Well, they've taken one of their best-selling silhouettes and cranked it up a notch by going full sulphur-dyed black (it will fade like denim but with even more highs and lows). This is one of the most incredibly stylish pieces they've ever released. The texture catches everyone's attention, but when you slip this masterpiece on it starts to sink its hooks in. Then, you look in the mirror and it's over. This is an amazing layering piece. It works for denim heads, streetwear guys, and office goers all the same. This is one of those pieces people talk about long after it's gone.
Momotaro - Dobby Sashiko USN Coverall - Indigo.

We kicked ourselves so hard for missing this piece in the past. Well, we decided to go with both colors and give you one of the hardest decisions in the world this time. Momotaro - Classic Denim Jacket - Indigo O/W.

We thought it was time to bring one of the classics to the forefront. This classic denim jacket is not like a trucker, nor a type I. It has its own vintage, unique feel based on those riveted front patch pockets. You've probably seen this modified with canvases and upper pockets, but this is the original worker's style. Open pocket styles allowed for easy storage and removal of tools. They also act as a place to put those ever so pesky hands. They riveted the pockets to give them extra strength as these were the first things to get ripped off or blown out. They were truly used. It also has the classic "T-Back" design. This jacket is extremely simple compared to a lot of more modern type ii and type iiis...and that's why we love it. It's the simple details coupled with the 15.7 Zimbabwe fabric that makes this thing an instant cop.

Momotaro - Sashiko Type II Jacket - Green Tea Dyed.

Sashiko has very quickly gone from something you could never get your hands on, to a staple in our industry. Sashiko and denim are becoming synonymous - you can't have one without the other. Normally, it comes in darker colors that can be hard to pair with a brand new pair of raws. However, this time they've hit it with a green tea dye that creates this incredible washed-out-looking beige. It has the feel of a vintage jacket, but it's brand new. This color will also fade, a bit more evenly, because it was done after the jacket was complete, vs in the yarn stage.

Momotaro - 15.7oz - Black Selvedge Custom Black Battle Stripes - Tight Tapered.

This is Momotaro's slimmest fit, but we think it suits the black. Black denim is meant to at minimum be slim, and if you size down on these they're going to be skinny. We started our initial run from Momotaro with 16oz denim due to the texture, but again and again, received requests for the 15.7oz. So, we decided to double down and get the black/black as well. And...we added the black GTB stripe. This is Momo's iconic "Vintage Label" denim. Its a fluffy Zimbabwe cotton with lots of fading potential, even in black.

For our initial run with this denim, we went with black battle stripes to make the denim a little more subtle. Due to requests, we had to bring back the black stripe in this 15.7oz fabric and we thought, why not include it on the black pair as well. We've seen fades on these down the line, and we can't bring ourselves to move on from the black. It'll be something we're always drawn to. The black will sluff off more naturally with the denim, and from what we now know, will stand out nicely against a heavily faded pair. This is crocking that makes perfect sense.

Momotaro always includes signature details, and this pair is no different.

Momotaro - 18oz Heavy Indigo/Beige Selvedge with Beige Battle Stripes - Tight Tapered.

We were so tempted to add our signature black battle stripes to this denim, but ultimately our eye for a unique, new color won out. We really love the way the creamy color of the stripes compliments the beige weft on this denim. If you've been following us at all in the last 9 years, you know how much we love an earth-tone colored weft. It's also right in our heaviness sweet spot. We typically wear between 14-18oz denim at the shop. This pair will give you that iconic "dirty fade" that's so sought after by denim heads. The beige weft will eventually poke through giving you a rich tone that only comes from unbleached fibers. This is a special one with a slight slub that we can't imagine people will be happy slipped through their fingers.

The fit this round is really impeccable. We think they opened up both fits to allow for the heavier denim, which in our opinion suits these fits. The fabric is also draping extremely well for an 18oz denim.

Momotaro - Sashiko Vest - Indigo.

We were super stoked to see our favorite sashiko fabric in a vest. This piece is quite a bit more contemporary than its hunting vest counterpart. The piped pockets and sleek design ensure that. This baby looks great over the top of a tee shirt or your favorite flannel. The big draw for this fabric is how it pops. It's much brighter than the coverall to start and will continue to fade with time. That royal blue is out of this world.
Momotaro - Sashiko Hunting Vest - Indigo.

If Momotaro makes Sashiko, we buy it. We've been eyeballing this vest since we got the catalogs from them a few years ago. Well, we finally pulled the trigger. This thing takes its design from vintage hunting vests, but for us, it was always about finding a contemporary fit. Whether you wear it tight to the chest or a little looser for layering, this easily will fit into a more modern wardrobe. It has three patch pockets and this unique placket at the center, oversized button! We really dig this piece, and can't wait to see it fade to those electric blues.
Momotaro - 05-306 - GTB Combination Shirt - Beige/Black.

Wowwww. We were pretty ecstatic about this when we saw it in the catalogs. Sometimes, you can't go visit the product in person. This year was definitely one of those cases, and we keep being pleasantly surprised. With this, we were blown away. The tightly knit cotton is structured yet soft. The peach snaps in antique copper are the perfect detail. You don't often see color/fabric blocked shirts like this in the heritage market. We just can't say enough. We love the GTB (Going to Battle) stripes as the perfect accent to this phenomenal shirt. Made in Japan.

Momotaro - Original Check Work Shirt - Peach/Pink.

Man, oh, man. They're back with a twist this time. Last year was a more classic, buffalo pattern. This time, they have a ton of texture and beautiful lines to boot. It's still a herringbone check, but you'll notice more of a grid-like pattern this time. The colors are simply to die for. The deepest most saturated colors we see from Momotaro always show their heads in these check shirts. They're a heavy fabric with a nice brushed surface, making them not only soft but super warm. You'll notice the classic Momo details with the triple needle stitch, open style pockets with button closure, and a wide placket on the front. This is the Momo prized possession of the season. Now the only choice is which color? We grabbed the special edition peach color to go along with the second release of the 15th collection. After seeing them in person, we had to do it.

Momotaro - Texture Selvedge Custom Black Battle Stripes - Natural Tapered.

The 0605-82 from Momotaro is a much roomier fit in the top block with a nice strong taper. These guys are for our shoppers who need a little more room in the seat, but still want the look of a tight leg opening. We couldn't help but be enamored by the texture of this denim. A low tension weaving technique helped create this 16oz slubby powerhouse.

Momotaro - 15.7oz - Zimbabwe Selvedge Custom Black Battle Stripes - Wide Straight.

We've been looking for something a little wider than the narrow taper, and we've found just that. This Wide Straight, also known as the classic straight is just the thing to break you out of your slim jeans. Dehen 1920 - 1/4 Zip Moto-Jersey - Dark Navy, Old Gold.

We've had this one on our bucket list for years. Each year, we've gotten Dehen into more and more hands making this the year where we really spread our wings. The 1/4 Zip Moto-Jersey is one of their original designs from the '30s. This version has an open hem and open cuffs that make it a lot easier to wear, and layer. It feels so much less stuffy without the ribbing. This one is their classic mid-weight fabric that's just a bit lighter than the "cardigan" weight. Even at a lighter weight, don't expect to be able to beat this piece up. It will be around longer than you.

We have to admit, we made a huge mistake not buying these from the jump. We didn't truly understand how gorgeous they were until we saw them in person. You get a little bit of everything with these pants, especially with a lightweight ripstop fabric. These babies can be worn year-round.
