We know each time a production is completed, we're going to be surprised by an even better product than we could imagine the moment we open the box. The details never fail. The construction never fails. But no matter how much we understand what's coming, the heavy yet fluffy nature of this fabric knocks us off our feet.
We honestly couldn't call it when we saw all the flannels for pre-booking. We had no idea which one was going to be the top pick...but it turns out it's definitely the black herringbone. We've been hearing whispers about this color since June. People have been champing at the bit to get hands on these, and for good reason. Of all the flannels we get, a blacked-out version like this is pretty rare. We think the accent colors they chose suit the deep texture of the black herringbone extremely well. You can really see the pattern up close in that gray stripe. This one unlocks new layers of texture every time you look at it. We hope you can get a shot at this baby before it's gone forever.

Fit Notes: Tommy is wearing a medium in these pictures. He's typically a north American medium and a medium in work shirts from Iron Heart. So we would say this one fits pretty spot on. If you're new to the world of Japanese wares, we always recommend sizing up once...but your best bet is comparing measurements to your favorite fitting garment. Even if you find the work shirt to look roomier, we still recommend sizing up once. 99% of our shirting returns are because people buy too small. Tommy is 5'10," 165lbs with a 40" chest.

The Tartan fabrics always have a hold on us as some of our favorites of the season, and we just so happened to get this one first thing for FW23. It's a rich hue of blue we've yet to see from IH, and that's what we liked so much about it. The saturation is off the charts with this puppy. In a season full of muted colors and earth tones, this is that real pop you need to wake up your wardrobe. The secondary colors on this one blend really well and contrast without being too over the top. We were really surprised by just how gorgeous this fabric was when it arrived.
We've always loved Iron Heart's loopwheel tees, but we have to admit we've been waiting for a roomier cut like this for a while. The sleeves are a bit longer and the body a bit boxier. The name for this style is Tokyo Shitamachi Body, which roughly translates to Tokyo Old Style Body. On these babies, we couldn't deny the purple print. White on purple is such a stark, gorgeous look and they nailed the graphics. We are a sucker for Japanese writing on a tee shirt. It lightens up the branding and makes this shirt more of a work of art than a "look at this branding" kind of deal.
