Hollow Tree - Voyageur Candle

We chose Hollow Tree because of the story. We found an instant connection with Tobias and her love for nature. Her work in conservation will never be forgotten, and her legacy in Hollow Tree will forever carry on. The scents will blow your mind enveloping you not just with aroma, but relevance to a time and place. Below are the words of the legend who created these masterful candles. From package to product, these are the best candles we've ever seen.

Inspired by the French Candian voyageurs who traveled the dominion in brigades of five, laden with valuable trade goods delivering their bounty to the Hudson Bay Trading Posts. Known for their strength, speed and endurance paddling the canoe, dressed in their distinctive red toques with their red sashes tied around their waists, the voyageur was an integral thread of the vibrant Hudson Bay area.

Top Notes:

Voyageur: tobacco | apple | black pepper

1871: Hollow Tree’s 1871 series evokes the scents during an era of the 1800s where the pioneers and prospectors trekked throughout British Columbia arriving from San Francisco on their way to the Klondike where tales of mountains of gold awaited them. Where lumberjacks toiled from dawn to dusk, and the Raven graced the skies as a ghost upon the forest floors, while Voyageurs paddled their canoes to Hudson Bay Forts with trading goods such as tobacco. This province was becoming what we know today, Beautiful British Columbia.

Nature Notes:

BC joined the confederation in 1871. Ushered in by our Father of Confederation: Amor De Cosmos, Amor negotiated that British Columbia would join the Dominion of Canada only if the Railroad was built to the Pacific Ocean. The Railroad was paramount and historical for the Dominion of Canada and it took 10 years to reach the Pacific Ocean. Amor was a pioneer in that he also created the first forestry, farming, and fisheries policies in 1872. Our first land-use and environmental policy.
