8045-61S - Fatigue Shirt Reverse Sateen - Black Stone
orSlow - Fatigue Shirt Reverse Sateen - Black Stone
Pleased is an understatement when it comes to the fact that we're working with orSlow. They've been on our brand "bucket list" for a while, so when we had a chance to see the line live in New York a few years back...we knew it was only a matter of time. The brand is everything we love - vintage-inspired designs with a modern branding approach and quality at the forefront of their ethos. It's all in the name, as they're the antidote to modern fast fashion...they do things slowly!
We've been dreaming about this all summer long. We kept saying "I know we have that coming in black" and it's finally here. It's got a nice washed look to the color so it's not stark black upfront. If you can't tell by now, we love fatigue shirts. This one is very easily our favorite. It's a beautiful, horizontally-textured reverse sateen with the buttons that are so familiar to all of us, yet so hard to describe. It's almost like they've taken all of the shiny stuff of urea buttons and what you're left with is this texturally satisfying almost rubber-like hand feel. That's enough about buttons, though. This double chest pocket fatigue is perfectly simple with all the right tags and details in all the right places.

Fit Notes: Andy is wearing a (1) in this fatigue as well. We've always found that these shirts are a bit longer, but we don't really recommend sizing down unless you're ok with a tighter chest. A size (2) would've worked for him as well. Shop owner Tommy is our standard fit model and chooses to wear a (1). Tommy is 5'10," 165lbs with a 40" chest.

03-023-66 - Army Jungle Cap - Ecru
We couldn't turn it down! We've been ogling this Jungle Cap for a minute, and when we saw it in the ecru we had to have it. Again, we like to see how people style these babies. This could so easily be built up as a unique bucket cap. Plus, the wear and tear you give this garment will become its personality. It's built to the same quality standard as all of orSlow's other garments, so it'll be the toughest damn bucket cap you've ever worn.
Sometimes we just can't help it with overalls. We see it in the styled shots and realize, "hey, an overall can be more than workwear." We saw the lightweight, yet textured 9oz denim and knew we needed to be one of the only shops to carry these in the US. The fabric has low tension and hairy texture that orSlow is known for. They've once again paid attention to all the subtle, yet important details. They've got super unique hardware and double/triple-needle stitching throughout. They're super strong meaning most likely the stitching will outlast the fabric (something we love to hear). These babies have a lot of places to store things. We're counting 9 pockets total. These are a legend that are very, very hard to find in North America. We're happy to call them ours.
The Fatigue Pants from orSlow are perhaps one of the most legendary, and sometimes elusive, pairs of pants in our industry. Everyone either has a pair of these or wants them. The hand feel on the slubbiness you see in those up-close shots is like butter. They call them heavyweight, but they're so comfortable on the skin. That slub is even more accentuated by the incredible vintage (used) wash. You'll see little details all over that harken back to the US Army pair these are mirrored from. We're talking side-tab waist adjustments, front patch pockets, and button closures galore. We see these pants being a staple for us long-term...that is, if we can keep them in stock. If the shirting proved anythign to us, it's that people love the way this fabric reacts to a little bit of patina.

We must admit, we're converts. The cargo pant was nowhere on our radar until orSlow introduced us to it in all its lovely utility. Their cuts simply seem to fit better than everyone else's. With the introduction of the "easy" waist, that fit process becomes even simpler. With this version, you can focus more on getting the leg silhouette you want and kind of bounce between sizes. It has some classic features like the typewriter crotch. This is a much easier-to-get-right version of the 6-pocket cargo. And if we've learned anything since the last launch, it's that this pant moves quickly. The charcoal disappeared in days. These have a wonderful cut and are a nice addition to any denim head's collection.

This is being affectionately referred to as "that new cool top" at the shop. It takes the fabric we love from the cargos and makes it into a roomy-fitting, fashion-forward fatigue shirt/jacket. It, like most of orSlow's designs, is based on a military garment. This one, more specifically, is a Trooper shirt from the 1960s. It can be worn buttoned as a shirt or open as more of layering or final piece to an outfit. It has roomier arms and no cuffs which lends to wearing it over the top of other garments. We love cotton ripstop for its upfront appeal, but we've also been privy to the way it ages - which is gorgeous by the way.
