Studio D'Artisan - Noragi Sashiko Shirt - Blue.
We have to admit, this was the first thing that drew us in with Studio D'Artisan. We saw this shirt and knew we needed to work with the brand. As you can probably tell, this isn't a Noragi Style shirt. The name derives from the days when people wore Kimonos as their everyday clothes. Clothing was very precious and was reused several times over, being repaired with fragments of other garments. In order to pay homage to this, Studio D'Artisan has used a blend of slub and wooden yarns to create beige-colored stitching to create a modern shirt version of this piece of history. They've also purposefully changed the style and direction of sashiko all overall in order to mimic the hand stitching of the time. This work-style shirt is built to be worn either close to the body or as an overshirt. It's soft and warm and a real show stopper overall. This is Studio at its finest right here.

Fit Notes: Most of our Japanese brands are considered to have a small fit. That being said, Tommy stuck to his true size of a 40, or medium for the pictures, and it fit bang on the money. These are built like most of our size medium shirts. If you're worried about a tighter fit, it's always smart to size up. Tommy is 5'10," 165lbs with a 40" chest.

The milling cutter (rib) also uses two threads to improve durability - a cover stitch over a grounding stitch. The back is also raglan to eliminate the sharpness of the shoulders.
