Dant Snap Wallet - Anniversary Tan
LM Leather Goods x James Dant - Snap Wallet - Anniversary Tan
One of the things that you guys proved to us this last year is that you love our leather good collaborations with LM Leather Goods. Tyler is such an amazing human being and hard working 3rd generation leather maker. The snap wallet was our most popular leather last year. For this 7 Year Anniversary round, we went full-grain American with this shiny, almost translucent, and ready-to-patina leather from Wickett & Craig. We can't wait to see you guys make these wallets even more beautiful.
We use these wallets for everything: business cards, credit cards, extra cash, coin pouch, etc... They're an awesome back or front pocket wallet, and the snap gives you a unique fade. It's almost like you've been carrying around a miniature envelope with a button on the inside.

It's been a long time coming, and we couldn't be more excited to release our 3rd and final collab of 2022 with our friends at Dehen. We've lusted over the Cardigans for a long time, and thought to ourselves "What could make an already iconic garment even better?" The answer was to take our shot at the varsity version and combine our two favorite Dehen colors - black and old gold. Their four-end heavyweight construction makes these an unrivaled fabric. It's so hardy and weighs more than 3 pounds when finished. We find ourselves reaching for our black cardigan nearly every time we open the closet. So, we wanted to forever put our stamp on our love for this piece. We hope you guys can enjoy it as much as we do! And keep your eyes peeled for a hidden surprise in the left pocket.
We worked long and hard to get this collaboration to its launch. It's been nearly a year since we started discussing plans for a custom jacket with Shangri-La. To be honest, it all started with the liner. We saw this houndstooth pattern and thought..."my goodness that would look amazing in red." So we had Marko and the gang scrounge up some samples for us. We settled on this brilliant, vibrant red that we knew would give you that happy feeling every time you pull it out of the closet.
The next step was deciding on a silhouette. We waffled back and forth so many times between the "Café" and "Chiodo" for weeks. All we could imagine was how much of a rockstar you would look in the "Chiodo" with a "red liner." And that is what ultimately made our decision to go with the "Café." Not all of us are rock stars. Not all of us feel like putting on a costume every time we walk out the door. I'd venture to say...most of us want something hard-wearing that goes with everything...something with enough solid details to give you that tingly feeling when you pick it up but not enough to stick out like a sore thumb. It was always going to be the "Café" as it was our first love.
We had a good idea of which leather we wanted to do, but the question was...do we just do one or do we crank it up a notch. Having decided to do the veg tan up front, this was the natural forward progression. It's essentially the veg tan treated to be black on the surface. What you don't see with this piece, as it's got a liner, is that the back side of the lather is veggie. So, as this piece ages it almost works in reverse of the veg. Pieces of the black will wear and chip away revealing levels of brown and tan underneath. This, is true nature of a tea core. It gives it an incredible aged look that is hard to accomplish any other way...and to be honest, nothing else will look as good as it ages.
We're so excited to be sharing this project with you. The good people at Shangri-la made our vision come to life. They did all of the hard work and absolutely crushed this design. It's a joy to work with our good friends in Italy and see our brainchild come to life.
Please note, there will be variations in the leather. This could mean that one jacket is has more veg tan showing through than the other. This creates a "1 of 1" piece exclusive to you.
Every Jacket comes in a high-quality 100% organic natural cotton Bag, laced with Havana rope and with a screen printed logo.
We're so excited to be sharing this project with you. The good people at Shangri-la made our vision come to life. They did all of the hard work...the hardest being this leather clean during the cutting and sewing process. It's a joy to work with our good friends in Italy and see our brainchild come to life.
Please note, there will be variations in the leather. This could mean that one jacket is lighter or darker than the other. The leather seems pretty consistent from what we've seen, though. There is also going to be color transfer from the zippers to the leather. It's completely unavoidable, but doesn't make the jacket any less desirable nor change the fact that you will pick up colors, stains, and aging that will rival and even surpass those marks. This creates a "1 of 1" piece exclusive to you.

We had a good idea of which leather we wanted to do, but the question was...do we just do one or do we crank it up a notch. The Veg Tan was the first choice from the start. We absolutely love the way a veg tan ages - always have, and always will. This product ages like wood taking on all the scrapes, scratches, and imperfections of time. It also deepens in color in the sun. Don't believe us...check the pictures of the exact same Lambskin Veg Tan in the pictures after being kicked around and rubbed in the sand. Eventually, if you wear this enough throughout the years it will become a deep brown verging on black. That's the brilliance of Veg Tan.

The Club Jacket is much more than a piece of outerwear for us. It's a symbol of transition and evolution from one stage of life to the next. We like to think of Dehen's Varsity jacket as the final style transition into true adulthood. Every guy should own one of these and wear it until the day they cross the rainbow bridge. After a couple of rounds of the classic, leather sleeve varsity...it was time to take the adventure to the next level. Once we saw the color combo for one of Dehen's Car Coats, we knew we needed to transition that style into a Club Jacket. This is the all-wool version that "adultifies" this silhouette even more. For us, it becomes sleeker and more versatile to wear with more dressy outfits. We are obsessed with the Loden colorway in everything they make, so sticking with this color was an easy choice. We think this is one of the most attractive jackets we've ever seen.
The interior is once again what we consider to be the best lining from Dehen. The diamond quilt pattern holds in just the proper amount of heat in an already warm jacket. These liners have always made us feel like we're getting what we pay for.

The Varsity Jacket is much more than a piece of outerwear for us. It's a symbol of transition and evolution from one stage of life to the next. We like to think of Dehen's Varsity jacket as the final style transition into true adulthood. Every guy should own one of these and wear it until the day they cross the rainbow bridge. We couldn't think of a better piece to continue our string of collaborations with. We want this piece to be a statement in your wardrobe. We want it to be something people stop and stare at. The Oxford Grey Pendleton melton wool is the most beautiful heathered grey we've ever borne witness to in person. It's the perfect light side of the grey spectrum and we couldn't help but mix it with this incredible rust-colored leather. You may notice these sleeves are a repeat from our last collab. We wanted to pay a bit of homage to a jacket that we still think is one of our greatest creations. The final step on the exterior of the jacket was choosing the ribbing. This black, gold, and ivory ribbing was knit specifically for us. It has never been featured on any other jacket and that gives us goosebumps.
The interior is one we feel matched perfectly with that black ribbing. We always opt for a quilted liner as it's the warmest and most visually striking to us. It's sleek and sexy and all the things we want the interior of a jacket to be.
We can't forget the beautiful collaboration tag featured just below the inner, leather welt pocket. In this round, we decided specifically to go with a satin finish patch to mimic the interiors you see on many of Dehen's other jackets. Orange has obviously been a common theme for our branding for some time, so it was a no-brainer. Our creative team knocked this custom-woven label out of the park. It's the icing on the cake of another creative venture we've been holding in for quite some time now. The cage is open, and this beautiful beast is being let free.
This is a limited, exclusive run for James Dant. If past experience has proven anything, it's that Dehen Varsity Jackets don't stick around, let alone a custom one. We've worked very hard to make this baby a sleek yet nostalgic piece to match our specific style. We hope you love it!
