DJ-BFx - Type 3s Denim Jacket - Burkina Faso Selvedge
3sixteen - Type 3s Denim Jacket - Burkina Faso Selvedge
We must admit, the first thing that caught our eye with this denim is the double selvedge ticker. We're not as evolved as we'd like to think. Little details like that still grab our attention at any chance. But when you look deeper, you start to discover a truly magnificent denim. The story runs deep with 3sixteen and their love for African weaving. They've taken that love and created a pair of jeans that has streaking which reveals itself both vertically and horizontally. It clocks in at a tick over 13oz but feels softer and lighter because they've given it a one-rinse treatment. This subtle, yet impactful decision really brings out the blues in this gorgeous indigo. They also have a bit of a lived-in feel from day one while retaining all of those brand-new details.

Fit Notes: Ryan is wearing a small in these pictures. He's super fit and fits into a small in most things from 3sixteen. He could easily size up to a medium for a more oversized look. Shop owner Tommy, being our standard fit model, wears a size medium. These have a nice bit of room with a 42" chest in the medium, and he loves this size. He like Ryan could size up for an oversized fit, but prefers the look of the medium. Tommy is 5'10", 170lbs with a 40" chest.

Knit T-Shirt - Mauve
This concept instantly got us jacked up. We're always looking for an alternative to a t-shirt for the spring/summer months. This one reminds us of shirts our pops wore in the '90s (they'd probably had them since the '80s.) These are a super soft and very sturdy due to that 70/30 cotton/linen blend. That linen also keeps them super breathable. This baby was knit by their partner factory in Peru which has a reputation for making some of the softest hand-feel fabrics on the market. Having a Peruvian cotton tee shirt is just insane to us. It's the epitome of incredible manufacturing. We personally love the addition of the v-insert on this baby for a little added accent. This mauve color is gonna be hard to top.
3sixteen just keeps proving that they're a brand built for Spring/Summer. Their ability to produce extremely unique silhouettes in an otherwise standard world of manufacturing is what keeps us coming back. This has to be the most impressive fabric of the season. The gauze fabric has a slubby swirl to it as we've never seen. It also has that airy, breathability that you look for in gauze. This is due to the loosely woven nature of the shirt. It's a stunning natural color that can be worn with a pair of slacks or a pair of board shorts. This shirt really does everything.

Their leisure shirt has done good by us in the past, and we think this new stripe appliqué cranks it up a notch. It has quite a hit of nostalgia straight out of the gates. It's crazy to us that this appliqué is a separate piece of fabric sewn onto the fabric prior to construction. That really requires an expert layer of placement and finishing.

The first time we got the Pima pocket tee in just black, it was gone overnight. We couldn't package them up and get them out quickly enough. And, it was for good reason. These things are silky smooth to the touch, and of course, that transfers to how they feel on body. Pima cotton is an incredible, versatile fabric and 3sixteen did it justice with this cut. They've now transferred the garment-dye process you know from the heavyweight tees to the Pima's. You will recognize these two colors as they were insanely popular a few years back. These were by far the two most popular garment dyes we've ever sold over the years. We've had some experience with how the color ages, and we can tell you that it gets even better with time.
Utilizing American grown Pima cotton knit into a luxuriously soft yet durable 160 GSM jersey, these t-shirts feature a slightly elongated and relaxed fit in comparison to their Heavyweight counterparts.
In comparison to their heavyweight jersey, the Pima tees have more drape and a softer, silkier hand. The tees also have a triple-needle coverstitched never-sag collar that stays tight around the neck over extended wears and washes.
