James Dant x Dehen - Club Jacket - Loden, Cream
James Dant x Dehen 1920 - Club Jacket - Loden, Cream
Coming Soon - Saturday, October 8 at 1pm EST
The Club Jacket is much more than a piece of outerwear for us. It's a symbol of transition and evolution from one stage of life to the next. We like to think of Dehen's Varsity jacket as the final style transition into true adulthood. Every guy should own one of these and wear it until the day they cross the rainbow bridge. After a couple of rounds of the classic, leather sleeve varsity...it was time to take the adventure to the next level. Once we saw the color combo for one of Dehen's Car Coats, we knew we needed to transition that style into a Club Jacket. This is the all-wool version that "adultifies" this silhouette even more. For us, it becomes sleeker and more versatile to wear with more dressy outfits. We are obsessed with the Loden colorway in everything they make, so sticking with this color was an easy choice. We think this is one of the most attractive jackets we've ever seen.
The interior is once again what we consider to be the best lining from Dehen. The diamond quilt pattern holds in just the proper amount of heat in an already warm jacket. These liners have always made us feel like we're getting what we pay for.
We can't forget the beautiful collaboration tag featured just below the inner, leather welt pocket (a new feature for this 2022 version). In this round, we decided specifically to go with a satin finish patch to mimic the interiors you see on many of Dehen's other jackets. Orange has obviously been a common theme for our branding for some time, so it was a no-brainer. Our creative team knocked this custom-woven label out of the park. It's the icing on the cake of another creative venture we've been holding in for quite some time now. The cage is open, and this beautiful beast is being let free.
This is a limited, exclusive run for James Dant. If past experience has proven anything, it's that Dehen Jackets don't stick around, let alone a custom one. We've worked very hard to make this baby a sleek yet nostalgic piece to match our specific style. We hope you love it!

Fit Notes: Our first impression is that Dehen fits with a more American cut (i.e. larger). We've been proven wrong with the past few pieces though. We would say this brand has one of the truest fits on the market if that's possible. Shop owner Tommy is wearing a medium in the picture. The only way he can wear a small is over a tee-shirt, and while it has a more slimming look...it's much better for him to have the extra room. The medium fits spot on with a button-up or sweatshirt underneath. Keep in mind, this jacket is thick and lined....and all measurements are taken from the outside. So there's going to be a lot of padding there you need to account for. The club jacket looks trimmer in the arms than the varsity jacket due to the material, but the fit is the same. Tommy is 5'10," 165lbs with a 40" chest.

This one has been on our minds for years. We've been waiting for them to bring back some variation of a khaki color to the selvedge world, and we got something even better in this camel color. It's rich and it's slubby, two things variations in the past haven't had. We could see guys wearing this in the office or as an indigo alternative out and about. That extra slubby texture and the starchiness of this denim give it the gumption of an even heavier pair. These have an incredible ability to stack that we just weren't expecting from a 13oz denim. After 5 minutes of wear during the photoshoot, you could clearly see the honeycombs in the legs, so this denim has something incredibly special we haven't quite put our finger on yet. They finished this pair with tonal stitching, copper hardware, and a red selvedge ID.

We were over the moon to get our hands on this extremely limited run of Greencast Slub Selvedge. If you recognize this beautiful fabric, kudos because it's been nearly a decade since its last release as part of the Made in Japan series. It has been their most requested denim since, because everyone loves a greencast. This hue is accomplished by adding a bit of green dye to the batch either just at the beginning or just at the end of the process. It creates a bit of a lighter, less indigo-dense fabric that is easy to see upfront. The real green comes out as the pair fades revealing a gradient of color. Probably the other reason these were so popular is that slubby texture was created by using uneven yarns in the weaving process. This yarn also has loose bits we like to call fleck. You'll see both natural and indigo flecks popping galore on this pair. It's pretty much the trifecta of goodness for the indigo-heads out there. They've finished this pair with copper hardware and subtle contrast stitching. It's truly one of the pairs of the year, and there are only 300 of them made worldwide. If you want 'em, grab 'em early.
