Mixtec Calendar Wool Blanket x Björn Atldax - Stereoscopic 3D
Indigofera - Mixtec Calendar Wool Blanket - Stereoscopic 3D
When Indigofera offered us the capsule collection for these blankets, we were over the moon. You already know we love skulls, and then you put them in 3D. Our minds were blown like we were a child again seeing our very first 3D movie. The Mixtec calendar around the outside is also a huge seller for us. The symbolism in each square is so appealing. The skull fades back into the mirrors creating a tunnel-like effect...one you'll only truly be able to see if you purchase the blanket. That's what is so special about this release. It's the first time we've sold something where there's a hidden effect only viewable when you snag the item.
We're talking so much about the design, that we haven't really spoken to the quality of blankets. The Norwegian wool Indigofera works with is unlike anything we've ever felt. You may just want to put this one on the wall and never take it down, but to know that you're buying one of the best wool blankets on the planet is a comforting feeling. They are both extremely warm and dense but something about the pattern of the weave makes them super breathable. They simply breathe better than any of their competitors.
The Mixtec mosaic skull is believed to represent the god Tezcatlipoca, or “Smoking Mirror”. One of the four powerful creator deitics who were important gods in the Mexica pantheon.
Tezcatlipoca is often depicted with obsidian mirrors at the head and is an adversary to Quetzalcoatl.
The name comes from the word “tezapoctli” meaning “shining smoke”.
The 3D Effect
Anaglyph 3D is the stereoscopic 3D effect achieved by means of encoding each eye’s image using filters of different colors, typically red and cyan.
Anaglyphic 3D images contain two differently filtered colored images, one for each eye. When viewed through the color-coded anaglyph glasses, each of the two images fuse together revealing an integrated stereoscopic image, which the visual cortex of the brain fuses into a perception of a three-dimensional scene or composition.
