Signature Ruled 2-Packs

Signature Ruled 2-Packs
Field Notes - Signature Ruled - 2-Packs. Field Notes “Dime Novel” Edition from the fall of 2017 was a big hit, setting sales records and filling up their inboxes with notes from Field Notes fans requesting that they make them part of their regular line. People loved the form factor, the Sewn-in-Signature binding, and especially the very high-quality paper of the interior pages. The Strathmore Premium Wove 70#T in “Dime Novel” is the finest body paper they've ever used for Field Notes. There was obvious demand, so they created the “Signature Series” with the same form and specifications as “Dime Novel.” There are two versions: a 2-pack of sketchbooks with blank pages and a French Paper grey/blue cover, and a 2-pack of ruled notebooks with a cream/yellow colored cover. The covers are gently debossed with just a tint of ink. They’ve used a brighter, whiter version of the same Strathmore Premium Wove stock for the 72 interior pages of both versions. They’ve always thought that maybe there was room in our line for a slightly bigger (while still pocket-sized) style. Once we got the Smyth-sewn binding just right for “Dime Novel” and once folks put their pencil points, charcoal and pen nibs on the lovely paper within, their minds were made up. Like Byline and its descendant, Front Page, this is an example of how experimentation with our limited-edition quarterly releases can help them discover what the Field Notes community wants. They hope you’ll agree that the Signature Series embodies the spirit of “Dime Novel;” inspired by 1860, made new for 2018. *DEADSTOCK*

Warehouse & Co. - Lot 6045 - Spring Suspenders - Beige.

We love things we've never seen, and this is exactly that. We knew spring suspenders existed, but to see them reproduced by one of the best brands doing repro in the world was something we had to see in person. The level of detail from the patinaed hardware to the leather connectors is enough to get anyone excited.

Until the 1920s, when jeans were still called "waist overalls" (waist-length overalls), men's pants had suspender buttons and were worn as "hanging pants". At the time, there were not many suspenders that were used as work wear. The rubber stretched and the leather would tear. Under such circumstances, a suspender was born that reflected ideas not found in suspenders up to that time as "NEW WAY". Its characteristics are self-explanatory, but, the kick pack is made of springs which relieved the stress of workers. "1920s Country" an advertisement in Gentleman magazine states, "The New Way stretches without elastic. It is cleverly concealed and does not chafe or bind the shoulders. When bent or twisted, each length slides independently."

Field Notes - United States Letter Press 3-Pack C.

Field Notes 48th Quarterly Limited Edition for the Fall of 2020 is the “United States of Letterpress,” which features the work of nine independent letterpress shops from across America. This series demonstrates a wide array of craftsmanship, ingenuity, and love for the age-old and tactile process of letterpress printing.

With the help of their friends at Finch Paper of Glens Falls, New York, and The French Paper Company of Niles, Michigan, they shipped each shop a different color cover stock (all from French’s Pop-Tone line) and specified the same two ink colors (Rubine Red and Process Blue) for all of them. The results are as varied and thoughtful as the participants involved.

Continuing a tradition embossed into the history of American letterpress printing, the layouts, themes and messages are highly personal statements about heritage, geography, tradition, and social issues, and they also demonstrate the diversity and strength of today’s letterpress community.
