Lot JG-15 - Ski Patrol Shirt-Jac Full Open - Safety Orange

John Gluckow is a vintage clothing collector representing America's East Coast. Having spent his early days as a designer with a global fashion brand, John knows what he's doing. He's taken that knowledge and partnered up with one of our favorite brands, Warehouse. This is the start of what appears to be a long-term relationship. They've designed some vintage garments with an eye towards contemporary fashion.

We were too intrigued by this shirt to let it pass. This tends to be the story with most of the pieces John Gluckow reproduces. We keep saying, "How have we never seen one of these?" The Ski Patrol Shirt Jack is a 1960s cotton/nylon overshirt with unique details such as a chin strap, straight hem and square flap pockets. Mountain rescue workers wore it and was likely custom-ordered. We decided to go with the full-open button-down version of this vs the pullover. You won't see all of the buttons because they are hidden behind a placket, another wind-blocking utilitarian feature. We always find that having the option to completely open the shirt is more utilitarian. You'll notice this shirt has a ton of texture in the macros from the blend of nylon.

Fit Notes: Shop owner Tommy is wearing 40 in this piece. He initially tried on the 42 and it was way too big. The 40 or medium was his perfect fit. He was able to fully button up this garment while feeling great about the length of the body and the sleeves. He had more room in this than the Madison Shirt and likely could've worn a 38. Tommy is 5'10", 165lbs with a 40" chest.
