orSlow - Pocket T-Shirt - White.
We figured it was due time to bring in some tees from our fan-favorite brand. Our thinking was that if they make pants and shirts and sweats so well, the tee shirts must be impeccable. Well, they are. We love the loose, boxy fit of this tee more than we expected. And the little embroidery of the islands of Japan at the yoke is fantastic. The jersey fabric is heavy without being a "heavyweight" tee. It's a jersey with just enough weight that you can feel it but not so much that it feels like a task to put it on. This and the roomier cut give it nice breathability. If you're an orSlow stan like we are at the shop, you're gonna need one of these puppies.

orSlow - 6-Pocket Cargo Trousers - Vintage Fit - Olive.
If you asked the question "What would it be like if you put pockets on the Fatigue Pants?" - this might just be your answer. Of course, it has different pockets and a slightly different cut, but a similar look overall. We've received more questions about this pant over the past 6 months than we know what to do. Sometimes, we like to snag something, if we can, to test fit and glean public opinion. This one was a "yes" from the general pop, and from us at the shop, so it had to be brought in. The major difference between this and most fatigues is that ripstop fabric. It's the grid pattern you see on a macro level in the pants that is built to be more resistant to ripping and tearing. It was one of the military's first tech fabrics, without using any actual synthetic tech. Where they lack the texture of the reverse sateen, they gain a ton with the ripstop. These are a little smoother overall and we're over the moon for this roomier fit. They take on a whole new wardrobe inspiration with this loose, comfy feel. The side tab adjusters make it quite utilitarian as the piece is as a whole in general. These babies have everyone swooning.

orSlow - 105.2 - Standard Fit Selvedge Denim - 2 Year Darker Wash.
So, we were considering adding this stock to what stock we have remaining and just putting a note about how wash strength may vary...but we decided it might be in everyone's best interest to let you choose. The FW23 batch of 2-year wash came out a little darker than the SS23, and we think both look killer!
You may have noticed that we've been a holdout on washed denim for nearly ten years of doing business. We were always of the mindset that we should make our own fades. We've passed on many a beautiful wash, and we've also evolved a little bit as a brand. If we were ever going to start with a wash, it was going to be from orSlow. The first time we saw these in person in a New York showroom over 2 years ago now, we knew they were too special to not give a shot. And now that we have, we're utterly in love.
This pair is mirrored from an archival pair from designer Ichiro Nakasu's own personal collection. It features oxidized rivets, railroading, honeycombs, roping, and gold selvedge ID. The fading is pretty perfectly even across the jeans like you would expect from any great vintage pair. There's almost more white there than blue at this point. This is the pair for guys who have tons of indigo they're working on and want something with that vintage look. It's also just for anyone who likes this wash of denim! These are nice and soft but will continue to age and patina with time. And they've got a nice roomy, standard fit for style and comfort.

orSlow - 1960s Twill Work Shirt Vintage Fit - Beige.
The work shirt has never failed us in the past, and we figured we would snag this beautiful ls version while we had the shot. You never know when orSlow is going to reproduce these icons. The work shirt is built with a much longer silhouette in the "vintage fit." The extra length can either be seen as an ultra-contemporary fit or a tuckable long sleeve work shirt. We love the twill they use for this. It's simply buttery and the buttons are a nicy shiny, snazzy accent.

orSlow - U.S. 2-Pocket Cargo Pants - Army Green.
We've been waiting on these all Spring. After acquiring the 6-pocket and easy cargo, we kept saying to ourselves, "We need a wider fit too." This is about as wide as it gets for an orSlow cargo. They're a repro of an Army cargo pant using the same fabric and buttons you loved so much from the M-43 HBT Jacket. It's a medium-weight herringbone in olive drab or "army green." The buttons are incredible black-coated starred metal with a bit of the paint already chipped off for you. These pants are roomy enough and light enough to wear during the hot months. We've found that to be the trick with this stuff - wear it a little roomier for airflow.

01-8069-71 - 1960s Twill Work Shirt - Light Grey
orSlow - 1960s Twill Work Shirt - Light Grey.
We were itching to get some more short sleeve options from orSlow. This seasons work shirt is cut with a shorter body and a nice contemporary fit. They've used a gorgeous cotton twill that appears to have a nice rinse/one wash treatment to soften it up. The diagonal lines of the twill are apparent alongside some pretty snazzy oversized buttons and open-style work pockets. We really enjoy this shirt as a Summer option from one of our favorite brands.

01-7002-P66 - Fatigue Shorts with Paint - Ecru
orSlow - Fatigue Shorts with Paint - Ecru.
The Fatigue material from orSlow are perhaps one of the most legendary, and sometimes elusive, fabrics in our industry. Everyone either has a pair of these pants or wants them. The hand feel on the slubbiness you see in those up-close shots is like butter. They call them heavyweight, but they're so comfortable on the skin. You'll see little details all over that harken back to the US Army pair from which these are mirrored. We're talking side-tab waist adjustments, front patch pockets, and button closures galore. The shorts are an option for anyone who loves the pants and wants something with just a little more summer wearability. The paint is something a little flashy and artsy on top of that gorgeous ecru reverse sateen we just can't seem to keep on the shelves.

Orslow x Malibu - Zuma - Washed Indigo Denim.
In our tenure, we've never carried a sandal or a slide. Nothing ever really spoke to us until this plain weave denim version. The wonderful manufacturers at Malibu have taken what looks a lot like elongated belt loops and created an incredible woven upper to go with their proprietary 3-piece outsole unit wrapped in Natural Malaysian Crepe gum soles. This particular denim is likely the same they use for the 105 and 107 models as it's woven on a machine that can only make 50 meters a day - nice and slow like orSlow likes it. This is an elevated slide for us. It's something you can wear around the house if you like but is meant to be worn on the streets. It's a blend of "our" world with denim and crepe soles and a world we haven't previously dipped our toes in. And this one feels a heck of a lot like the 2-year wash we love so much (we're certain they used a very similar process). The combo creates something incredibly unique that really has us buzzing.

03-7058-61 - Hawaiian Short - Black
orSlow - Fatigue Short Ripstop - Green.
It's very rare that we get a pair of shorts in the shop. orSlow is one of the only brands we're willing to grab them from. Of course, we had to grab the green version of these. It's a staple. They fit a lot like the fatigue you know and love, just with a little less leg. They're gonna be perfect for the heat we're bound to experience this Summer. You can't wear pants 365 days a year, so for those other days, orSlow's shorts definitely come in handy.

03-7022-02 - New Yorker Shorts - Sumi Black Ripstop
orSlow - New Yorker Shorts - Sumi Black Ripstop.
The New Yorker silhouette from orSlow is an easy-to-wear casual style with an elastic waistband. This time around they've been cut with a military ripstop fabric which could not be a more perfect fit for orSlow. The sumi black steps them up to a whole other level. There's such a lack of black shorts on the market, and these solve that problem. This ripstop is beautifully textured while staying breathable - a perfect mix of tech fabric and heritage design.

orSlow - Painters Pants Kinari Denim w/Paint - Ecru.
These bad boys were a shot at nostalgia for us. They bring us right back to the 90s. After we got the jacket, we couldn't stop ourselves with the pants. You can do a full coverall painted kit if you want. And this time, we really wanted the paint splatter. We had such good luck with the first round of these, we thought, "Why not give it a shot?" And they're done so tastefully that they become a pant everyone wants to rock. These have all of the classic features including that left-hand loop for your hammer and a slot on the right for many other tools. The massive pockets and subtle arcuate only add to the wonderfully fun nature of these pants. And, they're soft as all get out. This is a true workwear fit with enough room to do almost anything.

orSlow - Fatigue Pants Reverse Sateen - Standard Fit - Black Stone.
We've been dreaming about this all since the shirts arrived last year. We kept saying "I know we have the pants coming in black" and they're finally here. It's got a nice washed look to the color so it's not stark black upfront. If you can't tell by now, we love fatigue pants. This is easily one of the top 10 pants in the shop. It's a beautiful, horizontally-textured reverse sateen with the buttons that are so familiar to all of us, yet so hard to describe. It's almost like they've taken all of the shiny stuff of urea buttons and what you're left with is this texturally satisfying almost rubber-like hand feel. That's enough about buttons, though. These are a perfect pant for nearly anyone. They're dark, they're roomy, and they're full of texture.

orSlow - Fatigue Pants Reverse Sateen - Standard Fit - Ecru.
This one is quite a bit of a legend. Everyone either has a pair of these or wants them. But, we've seen very few people with the Ecru version. We can't say definitively that this is the first round of ecru, but it is definitely the first time we've seen it. They're that same horizontally textured reverse sateen as the shirt, just in pant form. The hand feel of the slubbiness you see in those up-close shots is like butter. They call them heavyweight, but they're so comfortable on the skin. You'll see little details all over that harken back to the US Army pair from which these are mirrored. We're talking side-tab waist adjustments, front patch pockets, and button closures galore. These have now become a long-term staple for us, but we can by no means guarantee that this ecru will exist in the future (and the slim version has now disappeared in just a couple of weeks). For us, that's enough of a reason to snag them for this gorgeous Summer ahead.

orSlow - Denim Army Shirt - Sky Blue.
If you can't tell by now, we love fatigue-style shirt. It appears that this is very similar to the fatigue with some modifications. You'll see their iconic copper buttons and a dual pen slot on the upper left pocket. While all the previous versions employed the use of reverse sateen, this baby has used incredibly faded and used denim in the color they refer to as "sky blue." We can't get over how well this shirt goes with the rest of the lineup. You can easily pair this with fatigues, cargos, or new yorkers just as easily as you pair it with some 105 or 107s in literally any fabric. This shirt is built to be worn right away. It's hardy yet soft from the heavy wear process. It has a perfect drape and we can't stop ogling this beauty. And, it appears we're the only ones carrying on the internet at the moment. So take that with a grain of salt.

orSlow - New Yorker Pant - Sumi Black.
We have to admit, we made a huge mistake not buying these from the jump. We didn't truly understand how gorgeous they were until we saw them in person. This fit is a perfect blend of military inspiration and contemporary styling. It has a wonderful taper, without being too slim allowing them to feel tailored, yet comfy. You get a little bit of everything with these pants, especially with a lightweight ripstop fabric. These babies can be worn year-round. We're so stoked to have them in this new Sumi Black color.

orSlow - Linen Button-Down Safari Shirt - Orange Check
Every once in a while, a lightweight shirt from orSlow snags our attention. We say that because they're better known for their heavyweight fabrics used for fatigues and jackets. This is not their specialty, but when they do it...oh, is it good. This orange check shirt is wrinkled to perfection. You could press it, by why would you? The wrinkle is part of the "linen" of the whole thing. This is one of those pieces where you lean into the wrinkle.

orSlow - Ivy Fit Pique Denim - Dusty Olive.
These past six months have been a time of exploration. We've tried every orSlow fabric we were afraid to reach for in the past, and it's paid off in bushels - if not only for our own selfish fabric "Golluming". We've had the opportunity to touch nearly every unique fabric orSlow manufactures and this is tops. It's a pique fabric that might read like a micro cord or jungle cloth to some, but this is a double cloth fabric known for its summer breathability. We normally see super lightweight pique fabrics in the form of Aloha shirts...but the geniuses at orSlow have created these gorgeous lightweight denim jeans in their 107 Ivy fit. And we can gush about the details all day long, but we'll never stop loving orSlow's pension for verdigris. They love to age their hardware and we think it's absolutely beautiful - like miniature works of art.

orSlow - French Work Pants - Navy.
We've got to admit, after nearly a decade of putting on stiff pants for photoshoots...it's quite nice to put something on like this. Feeling comfortable and mobile has become such an important part of our fashion sense in the previous 3 years. When we firt put these on in 2020, we though "man they're so roomy." Now we just take them as a classic, standard fit. The elastic waist band is a dream. The fit in the legs is a dream. It has a vertical herringbone pattern that you can really only see up close. The button fly and a tool pouch on the side make these a classic French work pant. We're kicking ourselves for not having this pant in stock sooner.

orSlow - Hawaiian Vacation Shirt - Black.
We've pretty much waded through the basics from orSlow at this point. The fatigue collection and anything ripstop will forever be a staple in the shop. Now, we're getting to look forward to pieces like this. We were not expecting a Rayon Hawaiian shirt from orSlow, and that is what makes it all the better. This shirt is breathtakingly light and airy. It makes us long for a cool beer on a beach. It is the definition of a Hawaiian shirt. And like anything else orSlow does, its constructed slowly and to perfection. We have a thing for Japanese floral patterns, so this shirt couldn't be better to us.

And like anything else orSlow does, its constructed slowly and to perfection. We have a thing for Japanese floral patterns, so this shirt couldn't be better to us.

01-7002-67 - Fatigue Short Ripstop - Beige
orSlow - Fatigue Short Ripstop - Beige.
It's very rare that we get a pair of shorts in the shop. orSlow is one of the only brands we're willing to grab them from. It's also very rare that we see a fabric from them that isn't offered in multiple styles. We've never seen this beige ripstop fabric used in fatigue. So, when we saw these we had to snap them up. They fit a lot like the fatigue you know and love, just with a little less leg. They're gonna be perfect for the heat we're bound to experience this Summer. You can't wear pants 365 days a year, so for those other days, orSlow's shorts definitely come in handy.

orSlow - French Work Pants - French Blue.
And this color is one we wanted from the beginning, and just finally had the gusto to bring into the shop. We're kicking ourselves that we didn't do it sooner.

orSlow - Fatigue Pants Reverse Sateen - Slim Fit - Black Stone.
Pleased is an understatement when it comes to the fact that we're working with orSlow. They've been on our brand "bucket list" for a while, so when we had a chance to see the line live in New York a few years back...we knew it was only a matter of time. The brand is everything we love - vintage-inspired designs with a modern branding approach and quality at the forefront of their ethos. It's all in the name, as they're the antidote to modern fast fashion...they do things slowly!
They're dark, they're slimming, and they're full of texture.

orSlow - Fatigue Pants Reverse Sateen - Standard Fit - Khaki.
The Fatigue Pants from orSlow are perhaps one of the most legendary, and sometimes elusive, pairs of pants in our industry. Everyone either has a pair of these or wants them (but not everyone even knows about the Khaki version). The hand feel on the slubbiness you see in those up-close shots is like butter. They call them heavyweight, but they're so comfortable on the skin. You'll see little details all over that harken back to the US Army pair these are mirrored from. We're talking side-tab waist adjustments, front patch pockets, and button closures galore. We see the olive always being a staple, but the khaki is a bit of white wale. We have it today, but we may not tomorrow (it's not always on the pre-order menu).

orSlow - 105 - Standard Fit Selvedge Denim - 2 Year Wash.
And they've got a nice roomy, standard fit for style and comfort.

orSlow - 1960s Type III Denim Jacket - Vintage Used Wash.
orSlow's Wash fabrics are among the best denim washes we've ever handled. The jacket isn't just stoned-washed in batches but individually attended to in order to ensure all details are accurate and natural - notice the unique fading on the elbows, for example.
The 1960s jacket pulls cues from the era that made the denim jacket famous. Its classic v-style pockets and seams are going to be forever iconic. They've included the cinch back as well as the shortened cuffs to top this piece off. orSlow pulls no punches on this one, making a historically accurate and easily-worn jacket that harkens back to one of the coolest eras of American fashion. Like a well-fitting leather jacket, it's hard not to feel cool in a well-worn jean jacket.

orSlow - Coverall Kinari Denim - Ecru with Paint.
The coverall has been a classic workwear staple for decades and a familiar silhouette since we opened the shop. We always loved the Kinari (raw, unbleached) Ecru version but we could never quite convey how much of a canvas it can really be. Well, with our expansion with orSlow over the past 18 months, we've been able to buy the fantasy pieces. This is one where they've perfectly added those paint splatters to create a work of art up front. These of course have all the beautiful details and hardy construction you're used to from our friends at orSlow. They're also a nice roomy, artsy fit. There's plenty of room in this coverall to add even more character to the 10oz denim. A little dirt here, a little paint there and this funky paint job can look even nicer!

These are as '90s as it gets. From the fit to the perfect wash, it doesn't get any more reminiscent than this. They've done this the same way they do everything - the right way. As the coding would indicate, this is mirrored from a pair in 1995. People will ask, "Why not selvedge?" Selvedge didn't come back into popularity, and any form of real production until the early aughts. While orSlow doesn't focus primarily on fully accurate reproductions, we believe they wanted to pay homage to the denim used at the time. Of course, they aren't going to make a bad product (which most denim in the '90s was). They're just trying to mirror the details of the denim of that time while using high-quality Japanese denim, hardware, and accuracy. This pair is probably our favorite wash from the good people at orSlow. It's done really, really well.

orSlow - Army Jungle Cap - Army Green.
We couldn't turn it down! We've been ogling this Jungle Cap for a minute, and when we saw it in the ecru we had to have it. Again, we like to see how people style these babies. This could so easily be built up as a unique bucket cap. Plus, the wear and tear you give this garment will become its personality. It's built to the same quality standard as all of orSlow's other garments, so it'll be the toughest damn bucket cap you've ever worn.

orSlow - 1930s Denim Overall - One Wash.
Sometimes we just can't help it with overalls. We see it in the styled shots and realize, "hey, an overall can be more than workwear." We saw the lightweight, yet textured 9oz denim and knew we needed to be one of the only shops to carry these in the US. The fabric has low tension and hairy texture that orSlow is known for. They've once again paid attention to all the subtle, yet important details. They've got super unique hardware and double/triple-needle stitching throughout. They're super strong meaning most likely the stitching will outlast the fabric (something we love to hear). These babies have a lot of places to store things. We're counting 9 pockets total. These are a legend that are very, very hard to find in North America. We're happy to call them ours.

The hand feel on the slubbiness you see in those up-close shots is like butter. They call them heavyweight, but they're so comfortable on the skin. We must admit, we're converts. The cargo pant was nowhere on our radar until orSlow introduced us to it in all its lovely utility. Their cuts simply seem to fit better than everyone else's. With the introduction of the "easy" waist, that fit process becomes even simpler. With this version, you can focus more on getting the leg silhouette you want and kind of bounce between sizes. It has some classic features like the typewriter crotch. This is a much easier-to-get-right version of the 6-pocket cargo. And if we've learned anything since the last launch, it's that this pant moves quickly. The charcoal disappeared in days. These have a wonderful cut and are a nice addition to any denim head's collection.

This is being affectionately referred to as "that new cool top" at the shop. It takes the fabric we love from the cargos and makes it into a roomy-fitting, fashion-forward fatigue shirt/jacket. It, like most of orSlow's designs, is based on a military garment. This one, more specifically, is a Trooper shirt from the 1960s. It can be worn buttoned as a shirt or open as more of layering or final piece to an outfit. It has roomier arms and no cuffs which lends to wearing it over the top of other garments. We love cotton ripstop for its upfront appeal, but we've also been privy to the way it ages - which is gorgeous by the way.
