Pure Blue Japan is one of those brands we've danced around for years and continually questioned why we had yet to carry. Well, the wait is over as we've finally done something we should have done long ago. This brand is known worldwide for its attention to detail and heavily textured selvedge. This is achieved by using low-tension weaves that create not only textured but hairy loomstate denim. Their lineup is always good and always small batch, meaning you only get a shot at a few new pieces each season.

When it rains it pours, and PBJ has delivered a whopping new collection of Sashiko goodies that we can't stop ogling at the shop. This is our first experience with their tops and we must say they do it as well as anyone in the industry, plus they always add hand warmer pockets. They give the people what they want, and that starts with an immaculate sashiko fabric. This evokes all the feelings of the icon that is "The Denim Jacket" with a fabric so unique you can't peel your eyes from it. From the perfectly matched chain stitching to the custom hardware and every detail in between, these are a masterpiece. It's early to say, but this series of jackets might be the pinnacle of PBJ's year (meaning don't sleep on this if you want it).

Fit Notes: Shop owner Tommy is wearing a size 5 in this jacket. That is the size he decided to go with on all the tops this round. As you can see by the sizing, these run very small. He would not have been able to go any smaller in this jacket and the 5 was truly his best fit. There was a little extra length in this size, but that is warranted in our opinion. Our starting recommendation is to size up twice from what you normally wear. Tommy is 5'10,' 165lbs with a 40" chest.
