Warehouse & Co. - Lot 2010 - Cowboy Jacket (WWII Model) - Indigo
The initial pictures of this jacket caught our attention because of the victory bag. We have a thing for totes and we instantly knew we were in for something special. This is a reproduction of a vintage Lee jacket. They're typically known for their broken twill, but this piece is true to reproduction in that they've made in right-hand twill. The other beautiful part about this fabric is that its weft is topped with grey giving it a bright indigo pop from day one. This piece also shows off the cost-saving efforts we saw in WWII. This includes double-needle vs triple-needle stitching. It also means round pocket flaps (easier to sew). Somehow, the laurel wreath buttons were also cost-saving. We're glad that was the case because they're beautiful. It was probably a supply chain deal. The cinch back was also removed to save money.
The herringbone Victory bag is an incredible story. These were mass-produced in the US and given to Miltary Academy students to boost morale during the war. It's the little details like this that make these limited-run Warehouse & Co pieces so special. There's a wonderful hidden W stitched into the pocket that you'll see in the details. This jacket is most likely to be a one-off run and disappear just as quickly as it came into existence.

Fit Notes: Shop owner Tommy is wearing a 38 in the pictures. You can see this is a short boxy fit. It's built like this to perfectly mirror the fit of the piece they used for reproduction. This is a very happy-looking, boxy-fitting trucker and can be worn true to size or oversized. Tommy fit comfortably into the 38 and could easily fit layers underneath. Tommy is 5'10," 170lbs with a 40" chest.
