Studio D'Artisan - Stitched Sashiko Shirt - Indigo
We've seen a ton of fabrics made in the Sashiko "style" at this point, but this is the first we've seen with a dobby double weave. This style of weaving, once washed, gives this swollen-like appearance that gives the fabric a 3-dimensional feel, unlike all other sashiko we've seen. These are built with super soft cotton and a heavy rinse/wash that makes them comfy from the start. They've also used oversized Tagua nut buttons to match the trousers. If the pants were any indication, this is a crowd-pleaser of a fabric in a silhouette that is beyond easy to wear.

Fit Notes: Most of our Japanese brands are considered to have a small fit. Tommy is wearing a 42 in the pictures to fit a roomier pant. If he were going for a trimmer fit, he could probably size down to the 40 since it has a 43" chest. But overall, he likes the fit of the 42 for a more breezy, summer fit. Tommy is 5'10," 180lbs with a 40" chest.
