This series continues to blow us away, so we continue to snag whatever we can from it. Amami Dorozome is a rich tradition of mud dyeing on the island of Amami-Oshima, as the name implies. It's an ancient tradition that uses mud-dyeing techniques that includes wood chips from the Hawthorne tree. It gives it this rich, clay color that's hard to accomplish in any other way. On top of that, this is filled with a gorgeous sashiko jacquard with a check pattern. This shirt has layers! It's a little taste of summer from a brand that finds a way to surprise every time a new fabric arrives.

Fit Notes: Most of our Japanese brands are considered to have a small fit. Tommy is wearing a 42 in the pictures and it fits really nicely. If he were going for a trimmer fit, he could probably size down to the 40 since it has a 42" chest. But overall, he likes the fit of the 42 for a more breezy, summer fit. Tommy is 5'10," 180lbs with a 40" chest.
