Gently Used Iron Heart - IH-555-142OD - Size 31
This pair of Iron Heart 555's was worn by one of our most diligent customers, he just liked another fit better. They were probably worn about 6-8 times and as you can see are very gently used. They are essentially just slightly broken in to make your initial try on that much easier. What he achieved is probably about .25 inch of stretch in the waist and very little stretch in other parts of the denim. Keep this in mind when checking the original details and sizing on the information listed below.
**Disclaimer, the below information is prior to any wear**
Iron Heart's medium/high rise super-slim cut jean in black overdye 14oz indigo selvedge denim. This updated denim (second version) is made with a double twisted weft yarn (the same construction technique as their 21oz selvedge denim). Overdyed in black so it will fade with time and wear. At 14oz, this is our "least heavy" Japanese denim.

Actual measurements for the same Iron Heart item/tag size can vary somewhat so if a specific dimension is important to you (for example arm length) please ask us to check this before we ship by adding a note to your order. Measurements for raw denim garments are pre-soak (allowance must be made for shrinkage).

Denim
18oz - Big Slub Selvedge - Weird Guy
We can never pass up slub. It's the thing about Japanese denim that we never knew the name for and could never quite put our finger on until Naked & Famous opened our eyes to its wonders. It's the easiest, and best-looking fade you can get if you want that contrast. It also looks damn good throughout the entire break-in process due to those uneven slub yarns they use in the raw material stage. There are no dull days with this kind of fabric. They've stepped this pair up to an Elephant weight (their heaviest weight series, if you're not already familiar). Normally they only come out with denim this heavy once a year, but we've been lucky enough to get a full-blown, starchy, crunchy, fade-competition-worthy pair at the start of the year. The price is also impeccable for denim this weight. This fabric is actually a reissue from their very first line in 2008. This year is somewhat of a victory lap for N&F as they celebrate their 15th. It was an extremely popular denim back then, and it's bound to be the same all these years later.

This is another one of those pants that tick all the boxes for us. We're so extremely happy when Naked & Famous choose brown for the weft. It's got this vintage look up front that we all normally have to wait months and months to experience. They've built this pair on the extremely sturdy foundation of their core "Dirty Fade" selvedge. You can see examples of them faded all over the internet. This pair features the warp from the Dirty Fade denim which is a rope-dyed indigo over natural cotton yarns. Normally these base yarns are bleached in modern dyes, which creates a more contrasting, clean fade. The natural cotton creates a more vintage, even dirty look. Then you add that brown weft underneath and it's already one of our favorite pairs to ever exist. We're having such a hard time keeping our paws off these. They're the perfect weight at 14.5oz and have this crunchy, stiff feeling that makes them nearly able to stand up on their own. It's got that heft that lets you know you're wearing a true pair of raws. The final piece is the gorgeous pocket flasher. We love the double tiger design representing the duality of the denim.

We've been eyeing Studio's washes from afar for a few seasons now. We couldn't think of a better time to snag this pair than the start of Spring. This is one of those garments that looks good from afar, then blows your hair back in person. The wash is perfect. It's such a convincing look into the past and for some pairs of jeans, the future. It has those washed-out knees and some whiskering throughout. But our favorite part is the roping and railroading that accompanies the seams. It really is the icing on the cake of a perfectly aged jean. We love the fit (even though you probably need to go up two sizes), we love the fabric, and we love the details - which is nothing new from a brand we grow to love more each time a box arrives.
