It's that special time of year when the Elephant series makes its return. We feel excited about this release every year, but this one in particular has our number. We've always loved the core series for its fading capabilities, but not until now has its true potential been explored. We don't think N&F was even sure how quickly and beautifully this denim would fade. Luckily, this pair has been sampled prior to final production...which rarely happens. You'll see the eye-popping fade pictures at the end of our carousel. The Elephant Series is known for being one of the most affordable heavy-weight denims on the market. It can nearly stand by itself, making it not only tough but excellent at accentuating personal wear lines. This translates to - you guessed it — better fading. Traditionally, this denim is dyed in traditional Japanese fashion where the cotton ropes are soaked in Indigo. This process doesn't allow for the dye to reach the core, meaning that as layers of the indigo sluff or crock from the yarn, you expose the natural colored core giving you the high contrast we've all come to know and love. This pair is the first time they've taken the elephant series and reactive-dyed the fabric with red before then completing the rope dyeing process. What this means is that when the indigo leaves the denim, you'll expose an incredibly rich red core. To match this denim's robust nature, they've included an extra thick veg tan patch that will pick up character and patina to match your fades. Welcome back the next round of this series — the Elephant 13.

Fit Notes: Tommy is wearing a size 33 waist in these. This is now his normal size for both the Weird Guy and True Guy. These fit bang-on perfect this round. They honestly couldn't be a better fit for the fabric and the waist had just the slightest bit of room for comfort. We always recommend you size up once from what you normally wear in standard denim and this definitely holds true for the Elephant series. Tommy is 5'10", 170lbs with a 33-34" waist.
*The True Guy is a straight leg fit with a medium rise along with extra room in the seat and thigh that falls straight from knee to hem.*
