Kimono Shirt - Slub Nep Rinsed Denim
Naked & Famous - Kimono Shirt - Slub Rinsed Denim
The Kimono shirt has quickly become one of our best-selling shirts. We're very particular about which fabrics we chose when it comes to Naked & Famous tops, and this one was a no-brainer. It's an incredibly lightweight fabric that is still packed with slubby, neppy texture. Slub refers to the yarns used to produce the fabric that is left full of bumpy yarns. That shows through in the fabric up front but really shows its true nature after the product has had time to wear. The other factor you see in these is the nep which is the face texture you see on the surface. This is also part of the yarn which is left in its natural state instead of being singed off. These are a really nice weight and style for Summer layering.
The Kimono Shirt is a shirt cut in the fashion of the Japanese Noragi: open-front, straight silhouette, front-tie closure. The Noragi were symbols of poverty in Japan. Farmers would wear and repair them to last decades. They have become symbols of Japan's horticultural past striking a deep contrast with Japan's present: a world leader in technology. Cut and sewn in Canada.

Fit Notes: The Kimono Jacket is a pretty open-fitting style. You can kind of get away with a range of sizing. Shop owner Tommy is wearing a size Medium in the pictures. This is his preferred size as it leaves him a little extra room in the arms and body for layering. Tommy is 5'10," 170lbs, with a 40" chest.

The term "Serge de Nimes" derives from the word for fabric in the Nimes region of France. Among the essential components for denim, the T-shirt stands out as a crucial item, designed with the concept of being a "real basic." DENIME T-shirts are crafted from Ugandan cotton, famously referred to as "the pearl of Africa" by former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill. Ugandan cotton boasts unique characteristics, such as its elasticity, nurtured by the blessings of the Nile River during its growth. These shirts are known for their texture for a reason. Made on Vintage 60's Era sinker knitting machines, these puppies have no side seams. This John Gluckow collaboration tee has a smaller ribbed collar than the 4601, but is built in a similar manner. It truly is unlike nearly anything else on the market. The single yarn knit creates an incredible striation that will age and mold uniquely as you wear the shirt. The hand feel is super soft but you get a texture similar to what we look for in our denim. And, for anyone who has never had a chance to get a bigger size, John has specifically had them build XXLs on almost all his collab goods.
